WE ARE REINSTATING THE LEVITES!

Levites were set in place by King David to be priests that spent their time worshiping before God’s presence day and night year round, a mirror of the worship happening in heaven before God’s throne.

In 2 Chronicles, as King Hezekiah took the throne he made a crucial decision to make his first task reopening the doors of the temple, the place where God dwelt with his people. He recognized the unfaithfulness of his ancestors and sought to place God back at the center of their community. Hezekiah knew in order for the Lord to make the earth his footstool and fill the temple with his presence, the priests and levites of David’s day needed to be reinstated into service. The priests for carrying out the sacrificial system and the levites for worshiping before the presence of God. In 2 Chronicles 29:11 Hezekiah says to the worshiping Levites, “My sons, do not now be negligent, for the Lord has chosen you to stand in his presence to minister to him, and to be his ministers and make offerings to him.”

After the temple is set up and consecrated, Hezekiah calls all of Israel to come and turn their hearts to the Lord by joining in the Passover celebration at the temple. The people continue in this for 14 days, worshiping, celebrating and consecrating themselves to the Lord. Then we are told in 2 Chron 30:26 that there was great joy in Jerusalem because nothing like this had happened since the time of Solomon. No King had desired to place God’s dwelling back at the center of Jerusalem until Hezekiah. 

After the 14 days of festivities the people began taking down all the shrines and idols across Judah. God had returned to being in the midst of his peoples hearts!

Adoration House is a response to God’s desire to dwell with his people. We believe it is God’s desire for his people to participate in the ongoing, never ending, worship taking place in the throne room of God. Jesus has fulfilled completely the need for sin offerings and his dwelling is now in the hearts of his people. We believe God also delights in physical places set apart solely for him. We are placing prayer and worship leaders in the prayer room to minister to the Lord with offerings of thanksgiving and praise. We are asking you to bring an offering so that we can continue to reinstate modern day levites (worship / prayer leaders) in the prayer room. We believe that the giving of funds is something sacred and we desire to approach fundraising for Adoration House as such.

In 2 Chron 31:4 Hezekiah asks the people to bring offerings to the priests and levites so that they might devote themselves to the law of the Lord. The people come with such generosity that the offerings begin to be piled in heaps. And in this way the dwelling place of God with man was restored. 

The past 8 months we have come before the Lord with prayers of thanksgiving and worship for 5-6 hours each week. Believers from across the greater Seattle area join us in these times and we hope to continue to increase the hours the Lord is being worshiped in the Prayer room until we are returning before him day after day, morning through evening. We need the people of God bringing together their holy offerings for His house.
